Working with sheers

I've been experimenting with working with sheers this month, for a session with Textile Without Limits. Here are a few of my samples, plus my 'May' Journal Quilt. Work by the rest of the group can be seen on the TWL blog (see list on left).

Journal quilt - untitled as yet. 'Misty City' perhaps?

I found Margaret Beal's 'Fusing Fabric' very helpful and enjoyed playing with the soldering iron I had had in the cupboard for 'a few years'. A second JQ is currently 'work in progress' and uses the soldering iron extensively for mark making, as in the following sample.

Thanks for dropping in.
